Enjoyed a solid three-month campaign before sustaining a season-ending injury in Minnesota on June 27, colliding with second baseman Ernie Clement in shallow RF on a fourth-inning single by Jorge Polanco...Suffered multiple fractures to his right fibula and damaged ligaments in the ankle, which were repaired surgically on July 2 at the Cleveland Clinic (Dr. Mark Berkowitz)... Began rehabbing in Arizona in mid-September... The injury came at an unfortunate time, as he was coming off a season-long six-game hitting streak and over his previous 9 games (6/17-27) he batted .357 (10-for-28) with a 2B, 2 HR and 5 RBI...Over his previous 24 games (5/30-6/27) he had batted .273 (21-for-77) with 4 2B, 3 HR, 8 RBI (.759 OPS)...
