Method 1) Simply drop this folder (unzipped) into your WordPress plugin directory (/wp-content/plugins).

Method 2) In the WordPress admin dashboard, click on ‘Plugins’ on the left-hand side, click on ‘Add New’ towards the very top of the page, click on ‘Upload Plugin’, and upload the ‘’ file you downloaded.

Method 3) In the WordPress admin dashboard, click on ‘Plugins’ on the left-hand side, click on ‘Add New’ towards the very top of the page, search for ‘wpgamelist’, and then click ‘Install Now’.

USAGE: Simply paste this shortcode on the page or post you’d like to display your game library: [wpgamelist_shortcode], visit that page or post on the front-end (like a visitor to your website would do), and look for the "Add a Game" link. Enter the name of the game you'd like to add to the left of the link, and then click "Add a Game". Fill out or modify the auto-populated fields, and click 'Add Game!'

v1.0 - Initial Release

v1.1 - Introduced the StylePaks feature, allowing users to purchase and install StylePaks that will change the look and feel of WPGameList

v1.2 - Introduced WPGameList Premium, also updated json file of company names

v1.3 - Several bug fixes and a couple stylistic changes to better anticipate WordPress theme differences.

v1.4 - Implemented an alternate way to communicate with IGDB database to ensure proper functioning on all web servers that may have different permissions/configurations. Also made two minor stylistic changes.

v1.5 - Implemented several bug fixes. Also introduced the ability to dismiss the dashboard notice forever.

v1.6 - Fixed a bug that prevented the folder structure for the Stylepaks from being created on some sites.

v1.7 Implemented several improvements, such as removing the Forward Creation links from backend, Ensured notification ‘dismiss’ button worked correctly, added an advertisement area in color pop-up window, and modified the structure of the backend.

v1.8 Implemented the ability to add multiple games at once.

How do I add a game? - Once you've installed and activated WPGameList, place the default WPGameList shortcode on the page or post you'd like to display your library: [wpgamelist_shortcode]. Then visit that page or post on the front-end (like a visitor to your website would do), and look for the text field to the left of the "Add a Game" link. Enter the title of the game you'd like to add, click on the "Add a Game" link, and select your title by clicking on it. Fill out or modify the auto-populated fields, and click 'Add Game!'

Why can't WPGameList find my game? - While WPGameList will have no problem finding the vast majority of games by their titles alone, occasionally WPGameList will come across a title that it simply can't find information for. WPGamesList searches through the Database for information about a title, so the general rule of thumb is that if it can't be found at, WPGameList will not be able to automatically pull information for your title. Luckily, the database is community-driven, so you can create an account there and add/modify information found in the Database, or just shoot them an e-mail and they'll see what they can do!

How do I keep visitors from modifying my game library? - On the WordPress Dashboard you'll see the WPGameList icon (a white circle outlined in green) on the left-hand side. Click on that, which will take you to the WPGameList Options page. Find the section titled "Display Options". Here you can set many different display options, including whether or not you'd like to "Hide the Edit and Delete Options". Checkmark that checkbox, click 'Save Changes', and the 'Edit' and 'Delete' links will be gone from your library, making it impossible for visitors to modify your library.

Do you provide support for WPGameList? - Absolutely! As this plugin is a fairly new creation, there are bound to be bugs and issues that I haven't come across yet, so please, if there's something just not right about your WPGameList experience, shoot me an e-mail at

How do these StylePak things work? - StylePaks are additional $2 add-ons for WPGameList (both the free and premium versions), that change the look and feel of WPGameList. Check them out here.<a/>Once purchased, you’ll receive an e-mail with a download link. Clicking on the download link will provide you with a zipped file. Once downloaded, unzip the file, and upload the WPGameListStylePak1.css (or WPGameListStyle.css) file via the WordPress dashboard options page of WPBookList.
