Featured Image Zoom

Provides a [zoom] Shortcode to display a zoomable featured image.

Add the [zoom] shortcode to a page, post or custom post-type entry. The featured image at the 'large' size will then be displayed on the page. When you move the cursor over the image, the image zooms to show the 'full' size featured image masked within the boundary of the image.

The Featured Image Zoom plugin uses the elevatezoom script.

This plugin was built to enable specific functionality for a customer project so there are no options in the initial version. Some options may be added in later versions.

On my site you can see a demo of the plugin.

Where is the plugin's admin page?

There isn't one. This is a lightweight plugin with no options so there is no need for an admin page.

How can I use this in a theme template

You can call the shortcode within the template:

echo do_shortcode( '[zoom]' );

Even better, directly use the callback function after checking that the plugin is active:

if (function_exists('cc_zoom_featured_image')) {

Why does the page reload after resizing the browser?

This is a workaround to correct display issues that occur otherwise after reducing the browser size or changing orientation on a tablet. As of version 1.1.0 this should first attempt to reload the page from cache rather than fetching the files from the server.

What happened to the loupe mode?

You can try it using a [zoom type=loupe] shortcode, however this is an experimental and unsupported feature which may look a little funky on some themes.

I am using the plugin on my site and I love it, how can I show my appreciation?
